Nov. 23—Leave collecting is often a challenging project for Northeast Ohio residents who want to keep their lawn relatively free of the colorful leaves before the snow flies.
Many people mulch the leaves with lawn mowers, others collect them and leave them with city or municipal officials, and still others simply blow them away into neighbors’ lawns.
Some trees have been without leaves for weeks, and others are still attached to trees as November heads into December and the chance of snow increases significantly.
Many parks in the province have spent a month mulching or collecting leaves from lawns.
County, city and other officials use a variety of machines to collect the floating leaves.
The ability to complete leaf collection is often determined by the wind and rain that come from the late fall weather.
