A special grand jury convened by Georgia prosecutors has recommended criminal charges against Sen. Lindsey Graham and a host of other allies of Donald Trump who have not been charged by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, according to a report released Friday.
The special grand jury, which led a year-long investigation into efforts to undermine the 2020 election in Georgia, helped Willis gather a massive amount of evidence that she used to build a sweeping indictment against Trump and eighteen alleged co-conspirators, including Rudy Giuliani. , John Eastman and others. But the special grand jury report, which remained under wraps until Friday, urged her to indict a much broader range of figures linked to the effort.
They contain:
-
Graham, the senior senator from South Carolina
-
Former Georgia Senators David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler
-
Trump advisor Boris Epshteyn
-
Former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn
-
Attorney Cleta Mitchell
The special grand jury, a quirk of Georgia law, had no authority to issue indictments but had to make recommendations to Willis, who could then file an indictment through a traditional grand jury. All of the figures Willis charged alongside Trump last month were also on the list determined by the special grand jury.
