The nation’s oldest brewery is expanding into central Illinois.
Pennsylvania-based brewery DG Yuengling & Son, Inc. announced Wednesday that it will distribute its beers throughout Illinois in early 2025. Yuengling beers will initially be available on tap in Illinois in late January. The company will roll out more distribution and packaging in the coming weeks.
“For years, we have seen an overwhelming desire for our portfolio from our most loyal fans in Illinois, who have eagerly awaited the brand’s arrival,” said Wendy Yuengling, Chief Administrative Officer of DG Yuengling & Son. “We are incredibly proud to announce our expansion into a great beer market like Illinois in the new year and as the oldest brewery in America, we look forward to delivering on our promise to deliver high-quality beer drinking experiences across the state.”

DG Yuengling is a family business and has been in existence since 1829. The main beer brands are Yuengling Traditional Lager, Light Lager, Black and Tan, Golden Pilsner, Premium, Light, Bock, Dark Brewed Porter, Lord Chesterfield Ale, Oktoberfest, Yuengling, and Bongo Fizz.
Production of the beer is handled by two breweries in Pottsville, Pennsylvania, and one in Tampa, Florida. More information is available at Yuengling.com.
