Former President Donald Trump claimed in an all-caps tirade that he will be arrested this Tuesday while a New York prosecutor investigates a possible charge.
The twice-deposed ex-president urged his fans to protest and “take back our nation”.
“THE FAR LEADING REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE & FORMER PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA WILL BE ARRESTED ON TUESDAY OF NEXT WEEK,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social app Saturday morning.
The New York district attorney’s office has not yet commented to the media.
The former president also called on his MAGA fanbase to take action: “PROTEST, TAKE OUR NATION BACK!”
Expectations of charges come amid an investigation targeting hush money Trump allegedly paid to ex-porn star Stormy Daniels, who allegedly had an affair with the former president.
Last week, Manhattan prosecutors gave the clearest signal yet that Trump would be indicted by inviting the former president to testify before a grand jury, the New York Times reported.
