Ukraine’s Zelensky says Putin killed mercenary boss Prigozhin

KYIV (Reuters) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said on Friday that Russian leader Vladimir Putin was behind the death of mutinous mercenary boss Yevgeny Prigozhin, who was killed along with his top lieutenants in a plane crash last month.

Zelenskiy, who provided no evidence to support his claim, made this comment casually at a conference in Kiev when asked a question about the Russian president.

“The fact that he killed Prigozhin – at least that is the information we all have, and no other – also speaks about his rationality, and about the fact that he is weak,” Zelenskiy said.
