Unidentified human remains found during search for Saratoga teen

LOS GATOS — A search for a missing Saratoga teen found human remains near Castle Rock Park on Saturday.

Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office officials said the county medical examiner is investigating to determine the identity of the person located.

Katherine Schneider, 17, went missing from her home in Saratoga on July 5. She was last seen leaving her residence in a white 2019 Honda Accord.

Sheriff’s deputies found the derelict car on August 7 on Skyline Boulevard, near Castle Rock State Park.

Sheriff officials said Sunday the case is still under investigation. Katherine is a white young woman, with straight blonde medium length hair and blue eyes. She is about 5’5″ and weighs about 115 pounds.
