MINNEAPOLIS— Temperatures will rise briefly in the Twin Cities on Tuesday before an arctic plunge midweek.
Highs across the state will reach the upper 20s and lower 30s as more sunshine breaks through. In the north, snow is possible if a clipper system passes through.
A polar front will arrive on Wednesday, bringing light snow, gusty winds and a sharp drop in temperatures. The morning hours will be the warmest part of the day, with wind chills down to minus 10 possible by Thursday morning.
Thursday and Friday will be cold and sunny and the clouds will disappear.
Temperatures will rise to almost 40 degrees Celsius this weekend, with light precipitation possible.
