The Washington city council will spend more time on whether the city should determine deadlines for the mayor and the municipal councilors.
Councilor Bobby Martin gestured Monday to set the proposal that those positions would limit to three four -year installments.
Martin said that although he supports periods at a federal level, he does not find enough people in the city at the office to justify them. He suggested the idea of ​​asking an advisory referendum question to let the public share their opinion during the April elections.

Councilor Jamie Smith originally introduced discussion about deadlines during a meeting of December. Smith was absent on Monday evening.
According to the council, the subject of term limits could appear on 17 February at the meeting of 17 February.
The current mayor Gary Wise announced in November that he will not run for re -election in April 2025. Mike Brownfield and Lilija Stevens, both Aldersons from Ward 1, are candidates to replace way, who is the longest serving mayor in 24 years.
