Watch Luciano and Fitzgerald get separated in the Giants dugout after a misplay originally appeared on NBC Sports Bay Area
Frustration is mounting for the Giants as they near elimination from the playoffs, with a misstep between two of their young players causing noticeable tension on Sunday.
Second baseman Marco Luciano and shortstop Tyler Fitzgerald had to be separated in the dugout by third base coach Matt Williams after the seventh inning.

The tension between Luciano and Fitzgerald arises from a pop-up he drops with two outs in the seventh inning.
San Diego Padres left fielder Jurickson Profar popped a fly behind second base. Luciano and Fitzgerald came together on the ball before colliding, dropping the ball and allowing two runs to score.
As the inning ended, Luciano and Fitzgerald could be seen talking to each other as they walked down the dugout steps. That’s when Williams intervened.
When the Giants came on in the eighth inning, Luciano was replaced by Brett Wisely at second base, probably just a defensive replacement in a close game.
Giants manager Bob Melvin will likely discuss the situation after the Giants and Padres play their final game of the series.
