(CBS DETROIT) – Some residents in Grosse Pointe Shores will experience flooding on Tuesday due to a broken water main.

According to the Grosse Pointe Shores Public Safety Department, a water main has burst near S. Edgewood and Lake Shore.

Repairs are expected to begin around 9:30 a.m. Police say water will be shut off in the areas of North and South Edgewood Street, Blairmoor Court and Putnam Place.

Officials say that once water is restored, residents should leave the taps running until the water runs clear.

When CBS News Detroit contacted police, they said they did not yet know when water service would be restored.

No other information has been provided at this time.
