What is the weather today?
Sunday will have a mix of sun and clouds with near normal temperatures.
However, this afternoon it may be stormy with wind gusts of 25 to 35 km/h. The high will top out in the low 50s, but will feel more like the 40s with the wind.
Winds will decrease tonight under partly cloudy skies. Lows will be around 40 in New York City and around 30 in the suburbs.
The coming week
Thanksgiving week kicks off Monday with partly sunny skies and temperatures in the mid-50s. Clouds fill in ahead of the cold front overnight.
There will be a few showers on Tuesday morning before the sun returns in the afternoon. With temperatures reaching the mid and upper 50s, Tuesday will be the mildest day of the week.
Things are looking good on Wednesday for holiday travel and the annual balloon inflation for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Expect mostly sunny skies with highs in the low 40s.
Thanksgiving storm possible
We are monitoring a developing storm system on Thanksgiving, but there is still quite a bit of uncertainty as the model spread remains high.
At this point, persistent rain is certainly possible, perhaps with some winter weather further north and west of New York City.
There’s still plenty of time for things to change, so stay tuned all week as we refine the forecast!
