December 12 – A wintry mix is expected to develop over Iowa and southern Minnesota late Friday evening, bringing snow, sleet and freezing rain.
The National Weather Service says snow and ice could lead to travel impacts on untreated surfaces Friday evening and Saturday.
Precipitation will turn to freezing rain in southern Minnesota Saturday morning before turning back to snow Saturday afternoon or evening.
Snow accumulation of less than 1 inch is expected.
People should be extra careful when traveling during freezing rain, and slow down and give yourself extra time to travel.
