A 29-year-old woman is facing aggravated arson charges after she allegedly set fire to the Mentor Home Inn and Suites.
According to the city manager’s weekly memo to the Mentor City Council, Doriyani Slaughter of Iowa was arrested on August 9 for aggravated arson charges.
The day before, Slaughter allegedly set fire to a pile of branches outside a room of the Mentor Home Inn and Suites, 8370 Broadmoor Road in the city. She had been involved in a domestic dispute in the room earlier in the day, the report said.
The resident extinguished the fire with water. There were small burn marks on the door and facade of the motel room.
According to the memo, no one was injured.
