Woman breaks down door when Statham man refuses to have sex with her

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office reported the following incidents:

BRIGHT LIGHTS: On December 31, Deputy Chris Haag was patrolling the Epps Bridge Parkway shortly after 10 p.m. when an approaching car failed to dim its lights. He made a traffic stop and saw an open bottle of Corona in the car of the female driver and her male companion. The 47-year-old woman from Athens explained that they were on their way to a restaurant. She said she hadn’t had anything to drink in the past two hours. However, she smelled of alcohol. She offered to take tests and insisted, “I’m not drunk.” But after testing, the woman was charged with driving under the influence and failing to dim her car lights.

FENCE DAMAGED: On Jan. 3, Cpl. Lex Ogan responded to a damage report on Garrett Road, Statham, where a vehicle ran off the road destroying 100 feet of wooden fencing. A Glock 21 pistol and bags of marijuana were found in a backpack. The man explained that he paid $220 for the marijuana and that it was for his personal use. She was taken to prison.
