Woman charged in Riverside Park incident

Oct. 6—CUMBERLAND — An alleged assault Saturday near Riverside Park resulted in the arrest of a Cumberland woman, Cumberland police said.

Keiana Langan, 30, was charged with first- and second-degree assault and disorderly conduct after police allegedly beat a woman and tried to strangle her. A bystander was able to intervene and free the victim.

Langan was taken into custody a short distance from the incident and was also served with a child support order.

She was being held without bond at the Allegany County Detention Center on Sunday pending a bail hearing on Monday.
