Krispy Kreme has a new deal, just in time for a day that the superstitious dread.
Krispy Kreme announced in a press release Wednesday that customers can get a dozen Original Glazed Donuts for 13 cents when purchasing a dozen or 16-piece minis at the regular price.
Offer valid at participating locations, for one customer, and online or for delivery when you use promo code “13” in the Krispy Kreme app.

History of Friday the 13th and Origins
Friday the 13th’s reputation as unlucky stems largely from religious and cultural beliefs. In Christianity, it is associated with the Last Supper, where Judas, the 13th guest, betrayed Jesus, leading to his crucifixion on a Friday, according to USA TODAY.
Norse mythology also contributes to this: the 13th god, Loki, brings chaos and death.
This superstition only grew stronger over time, especially after the mass arrest of the Templars on Friday, October 13, 1307, which made the unlucky day even more important.

There is one more Friday the 13th in 2024, and it falls in December. The next one is in June 2025.
