Early Friday, Zach Bryan posted on social media describing his side of what happened leading up to his arrest Thursday in Oklahoma.
The current folk-country artist topping the Billboard Hot 100 was arrested Thursday evening after what the “I Remember Everything” artist described on social media as an “incident with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.” In his nearly five-minute story on the social media site, Bryan was calm and stated more than once that he “acted like a child” during the incident.
Bryan was taken to the Craig County Sheriff’s Office in Vinita, Oklahoma following his arrest. A mugshot was taken of him at 6:42 PM CT after he was booked on what was described as an “obstruction of investigation” charge, according to available information from the sheriff’s office. online data.

“I just wanted to be completely transparent with anyone who listens to my music about what happened yesterday with me getting arrested and everything,” he said as he sat in his car and drove to New York with his dog Jack.
Byran admitted to being arrested after his bodyguard was pulled over on Thursday, but he also reported an incident with police the day before when he was stopped for speeding.
He admits that he drove several kilometers too fast when he was stopped by the police. During the interaction, an officer asked for his address, but Bryan initially refused to provide it. He said he was a musician and he didn’t want to reveal that. When Bryan refused to give him the address, the police officer reportedly handcuffed the singer.
The situation was resolved and Bryan stated that he had finally given the officer his address.
“It really frustrated me because I didn’t know if I had the right to deny him my address or not,” Bryan said.

The next day, Thursday, Bryan and his security guard were leaving for Boston when his bodyguard was apprehended in Vinita.
Bryan stated that he stopped at the stop and waited “10-15 minutes” for the traffic stop. He said he had gotten out of his car to smoke a cigarette, when police told him he had to get back in the car or he would be taken to jail.
“Like an idiot I said, ‘Take me to jail? What do you mean?'” he said in the video.
The incident led to Bryan being handcuffed in a patrol vehicle. Bryan admits he got angry and spoke up. He said he kept interrupting the officer while he was trying to tell him something and he went to jail.
During Bryan’s retelling of the events that took place, he expressed regret for the way he acted.
“It didn’t help my situation at all. I felt like a child,” he said.
