Zelensky will travel to Washington DC later this week along with members of Congress, including House Speaker Kevin McCarthy.
It has been Zelensky’s to the United States since the war began 18 months ago.
Biden used his earlier Monday to ask world leaders to stand behind Ukraine.
“Russia believes the world will grow tired and allow Ukraine to be brutal without consequences,” Biden said in the presence of Zelensky. “If we allow Ukraine to be divided, is the independence of any country safe?”
After arriving in New York, Zelensky visited nine wounded Ukrainian soldiers being treated at Staten Island University Hospital, telling them to “stay strong.”
“We’ll all wait until you get home,” he added.
