Zelensky calls for ‘decisive action’ after massive Russian airstrikes

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has appealed to international partners for “decisive action” after the latest Russian attack on Ukraine, which he said involved more than 100 missiles and several drones.

“Weakness and inadequate responses fuel terror,” Zelensky said in a short video message on the social media platform X on Monday.

“Every leader, every one of our partners, knows what decisive actions are needed to end this war justly.”

He reiterated his call for lifting restrictions on the use of long-range weapons supplied by Western partners, which currently prevent Ukraine from penetrating deep into Russian territory.

“Ukraine’s long-range capabilities cannot be limited if the terrorists do not face such limitations,” Zelensky said.

“America, Britain, France and our other partners have the power to help us stop this terror. The time for decisive action is now,” the president said, listing some of the country’s most important and powerful allies.

Russia launched massive airstrikes on Ukraine early Monday morning, in what Zelensky called one of the heaviest airstrikes in two and a half years of war.

Russian forces have fired more than 100 missiles of various types and about 100 Shahed drones at targets across Ukraine, causing “significant damage” to the country’s energy sector, Zelensky said.
