MINNEAPOLIS — A woman has died and a man has been arrested after a head-on collision in north Minneapolis Saturday night, police said.
A driver in a Dodge Journey crossed the center line at Lowry and James avenues around 10:40 p.m. and struck a Dodge Durango, Minneapolis police said.
After the crash, the driver of the Journey was attacked by an “unknown passenger” in the Durango, police said.
The 31-year-old woman driving the Durango and a 14-year-old girl who was a passenger were hospitalized. The woman died at the hospital. Another woman in the car did not speak to police.
The 34-year-old man driving the Journey was hospitalized with minor injuries and was later arrested for suspected drunken driving and criminal homicide, police said.
The crash is under investigation. No one involved has been publicly identified.
