A Polk County man died Tuesday evening after a traffic accident in Osceola County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
Troopers responded to the two-vehicle crash at Nova Road and Story Bend Road around 6:30 p.m
Investigators said the driver of a Ford transit van was traveling eastbound on Nova Road when he entered the westbound lane and into the direct path of an oncoming Acura TL sedan.

Troopers said the driver of the Acura tried to pull out of the way, but the front of the vehicles collided.
The Acura overturned and landed on its roof on the grass shoulder of the roadway, investigators said.
The driver was rushed to Osceola Regional Medical Center but did not survive.

FHP did not release his name but said he was a 28-year-old resident of Haines City.
The driver of the van, 47, of Deltona, was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, according to officials.
FHP said troopers are still investigating the crash.
