14-year-old arrested for alleged evasion and drink driving in Kent

Police in Kent have arrested a 14-year-old for trying to escape from police and drink-driving.

On Friday, June 28, Kent police officers, who were primarily on patrol, observed a car that failed to stop at a stop sign on West Meeker Street.

When the officer stopped the car, the car drove out of its lane and went through a red light.

As the police car drove away with its lights and sirens on, the teenager slowly continued driving, hit a curb while turning and ran the red light again.

The car had a flat tire and came to a stop after hitting another curb.

The driver got out of the car and ran to a nearby apartment complex.

According to police, an officer saw the suspect running with a gun in his hand.

The King County Sheriff’s Office Guardian 1 helicopter assisted in the search for the suspect. Guardian 1 soon spotted the teen jumping a fence and hiding in a homeowner’s backyard freezer.

For 20 minutes, officers on the ground and in the air ordered the suspect to surrender. The suspect slowly opened the freezer door after a Federal Way Police K9 team arrived to assist.

According to police, the suspect ignored the police and was curled up on the ground with his hands under his body.

After the suspect was arrested, a warrant was issued to test the suspect’s blood for drugs and alcohol.

The suspect was taken to a local hospital for blood work and fingerprints, after which he was released to his parents.

The teen still faces charges of driving under the influence, eluding, resisting and obstructing.

Detectives from Kent are investigating the case.
