A 16-year-old Salem boy was arrested Tuesday in connection with a fatal stabbing in July at Wallace Marine Park, Salem police said.
On the morning of July 27, a group of youths became involved in a “spontaneous dispute” near the boat ramp at Wallace Marine Park, police said.
The dispute resulted in the stabbing death of Riley John Adams, 19, who died from his injuries on Aug. 19, police said.
Salem police, a SWAT team and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives executed a search warrant Tuesday at a home linked to the 16-year-old. He was arrested and taken to the Yamhill County Juvenile Detention Center on charges of second-degree murder and unlawful use of a weapon.
According to police, he is the only suspect in the case.
