Three terraced houses were damaged when a fire broke out on Sunday afternoon, leaving more than a dozen people without a place to stay.
The fire broke out around 12:20 a.m. in the complex of two-story buildings in the 4000 block of Penn Mar Avenue, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
Crews arrived to find two of the townhomes already “fully involved” in the flames. It quickly spread through the attic into the third building, they said.
They extinguished the fire by 12:50 p.m., but the damage caused by the blaze displaced a total of 17 people, fire officials said.
No injuries were reported and investigators are investigating the cause of the fire.
Video from the scene shared on the Citizen App showed huge plumes of smoke escaping from the building, which could be seen throughout the area.
