A violent head-on crash in Playa Del Rey resulted in one death and four injuries Tuesday evening.
The collision occurred in the 8800 block of Vista Del Mar near Dockweiler Beach just before 7:55 p.m. The Los Angeles Fire Department said crews used special tools to rescue several people from their cars.
Of the four injured, paramedics rushed four people to hospital: three in critical condition and one in fair condition.
It is unclear what caused the crash. The deceased was 17 years old.
LAFD said Los Angeles Police Department investigators were en route to the crash site.
