Lafayette crews battled a two-alarm fire that affected two homes in the city’s Stanley neighborhood early Tuesday morning.

The Contra Costa County Fire Protection District said crews remained in the 3400 block of Monroe Avenue after extinguishing the fire, which started just a few minutes before 5 a.m.
