2 drivers injured in accident on Highway 56 near Dodge Center

August 13 – WASIOJA TOWNSHIP, Minn. – Two people were injured without life-threatening injuries after a two-vehicle collision near Dodge Center on Tuesday, August 13, 2024.

A 2021 Chevrolet Spark was traveling southbound on Minnesota Highway 56 and a 2022 Ford F350 was traveling northbound on the highway when they collided near the intersection of Dodge County Road 34 around 9 a.m. Tuesday, according to a crash report from the Minnesota State Patrol.

The driver of the Chevrolet, 67-year-old Karen Naloni Monson of Kasson, was taken to Mayo Clinic Hospital-Saint Marys with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Ford, 66-year-old Jerald Grint of Sargent, Nebraska, was also transported to Saint Marys with non-life-threatening injuries. He was not wearing a seat belt, the report said.

The Minnesota State Patrol, Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, Dodge Center Fire Department, Dodge Center Ambulance Service, Hayfield Community Ambulance Service and the Minnesota Department of Transportation responded to the scene of the crash.
