2 in custody after injuring an employee during an attempted theft at the AT&T store in Rochester, police say

ROCHESTER, Minn. – Two people were arrested Tuesday after trying to steal phones and wounding an employee with a knife AT&T store in southern Minnesota, police said.

Rochester police said its officers responded to the store on Crossroads Drive Southwest just before 8:30 p.m

Two people entered the store and tried to steal several phones before getting into an argument with an employee, police said.

The employee was injured during the altercation and officers later found a knife, police said. The employee was taken to hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

The two suspects, aged 26 and 20, ran from the store, but police chased and arrested them. Police said they will face serious robberies.
