Two people were killed early Saturday on Highway 101 in Ventura in a wrong-way crash that closed the northbound highway for hours.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident was reported just before 2:30 a.m. north of Seaward Avenue. A driver was said to be traveling southbound in the northbound lanes, the agency’s log showed.
Two vehicles on scene had major front-end damage. At least one person died at the scene. Dispatch staff confirmed the two deaths, but other details about the crash were not immediately available.
The northbound lanes were reopened at 7:30 a.m
