A Missouri man drowned Friday when his lawn mower fell over and he fell underwater, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.
At about 2:40 p.m. Friday, Brent Carroll, 20, of Warrensburg, was mowing at the top of an embankment surrounding a pond on private property. According to an incident report from MSHP, the riding mower lost traction and began sliding sideways down the hill toward the pond, located in rural Henry County.
The lawnmower’s tire dug into the ground at the edge of the pond and overturned, causing Carroll to fall underwater, the report said.
Carrol was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics just before 4 p.m. His body was transported to a funeral home.
Henry County is located approximately an hour and a half south of Kansas City.
