Class of 2025 four-star quarterback Blake Hebert has reversed his commitment Notre Dame by Clemson. He announced his withdrawal from the Tigers on social media on Monday evening.
“I want to start by thanking the Clemson coaching staff and the program itself for everything they have done for me,” Hebert said in a statement posted to X (formerly Twitter). “With that said, I have chosen to withdraw my commitment and spend the next four years at another institution. Romans 8:18.”
A few minutes later, Hebert posted a commitment image for the Fighting Irish.
Hebert, who currently attends Brunswick School in Greenwich, Connecticut, originally committed to Clemson in June 2023.
Notre Dame recently lost its old Class of 2025 quarterback promise in Deuce Knightwho originally committed to the Fighting Irish in September 2023 but transferred there Chestnut brown on October 2.
Knight’s move to Auburn meant Notre Dame needed to find a replacement signal caller ahead of the fast-approaching early signing period for the 2025 class on Dec. 4, and the Fighting Irish have found their man in Hebert.
Two of Hebert’s high school teammates: A four-star offensive tackle Matthijs Augustinus and four-star safety Ethan Lang – are currently committed to Notre Dame.
Hebert ranks as the No. 3 prospect in the state of Connecticut and the No. 17 pro-style quarterback in the 2025 cycle.
He had additional offers from Boston College, Connecticut, Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Mississippi, Nebraska, North Carolina, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Purdue, Rutgers, Virginia, Virginia technology and others.
Notre Dame Class 2025 now includes a total of 23 commitments with Hebert in the fold, and ranks 13th nationally.
Clemsons Class 2025 decreases by one and now has a total of thirteen commitments. Nationally it ranks 31st.
