(BCN) – A 22-year-old man who was part of a group of people drinking in a Santa Rosa park Thursday evening has been arrested for allegedly possessing a firearm.

Police said they received a call from a local resident about people drinking in Bicentennial Park around 7:10 p.m. The caller said they were concerned because there were children playing nearby.
An officer on scene said he observed several people near a bench at Hardies Lane and Ditty Avenue who were believed to be intoxicated, which is a violation of the City of Santa Rosa ordinance.
As the officer approached the group of people, he reportedly saw one person in the group hiding an object in the waistband of his pants.
When the officer asked the man what he was hiding, the man, identified as Marco Antonio Flores of Santa Rosa, became nervous and tense, the officer said.
Eventually, the officer reportedly discovered that Flores had a firearm.
Flores was arrested and booked into the Sonoma County Jail for allegedly having a loaded semi-automatic handgun.
