23-year-old charged with driving under the influence after crashing into a Phoenix home

A 23-year-old man was arrested on multiple charges, including drunken driving, after crashing a car into a house early Friday morning.

Phoenix police tried to stop a speeding SUV near 59th Avenue and McDowell Road just after 2 a.m. The driver, Sigifredo Reynaga Jr., failed to yield to officers and continued to drive into a neighborhood east of 59th Avenue at a high rate of speed.

Reynaga Jr. eventually lost control of the vehicle and collided with several vehicles and a house, Phoenix police said.

He was hospitalized as a precaution and later arrested. No one else was injured.

In addition to the drunk driving charge, Phoenix police said Reynaga Jr. was booked on multiple charges, including unlawful flight by law enforcement.
