Three people were killed and two injured when a car crashed into several parked vehicles in Monterey Park Friday morning.
Authorities said one person was thrown from a black SUV and three others were trapped inside a vehicle in the violent crash. The victim who was thrown was found on the roof of a nearby home.
The crash happened around 12:30 p.m. near the intersection of East Graves Avenue and Cecil Street, where responding officers found the SUV had struck a tree, struck three vehicles and rolled over onto its roof, Monterey Park police said.
Three were pronounced dead at the scene and two others, including a 7-year-old child, were taken to a hospital in unknown condition.
The identities of the victims have not been released. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
