JOLIET, Illinois (CBS) — Three people were shot early Sunday morning at a bar in Joliet, Illinois.

Shortly before 1:30 a.m., officers responded to Eden’s Bar and Grill at 926 Gardner Avenue for a report of people being shot inside the bar.

A 29-year-old man suffered three gunshot wounds to the lower body, a 31-year-old woman was hit in her right ankle and a 25-year-old woman was shot in her right leg.

According to police, officers immediately began providing medical aid to the victims until emergency responders from the Joliet Fire Department arrived.

The 25-year-old woman and 29-year-old man were taken to Silver Cross Hospital, and the 31-year-old woman was taken to Ascension St. Joseph Medical Center. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

It was thought that the gunfire came from outside the bar and that the bullets had entered the building. During a search of the area, shell casings were found outside the establishment.

According to police, the investigation is still in its early stages and is ongoing.
