(CBS DETROIT) – A 30-year-old Michigan man died Wednesday after being struck by a car in Eastpointe, police said.
Officers were dispatched to Gratiot, northbound, near Chestnut after receiving a report of a man lying in the middle of Gratiot.
When they arrived on scene, they found the man, a 30-year-old from Roseville, lying between the center and right lanes.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigation revealed that the man was walking on Gratiot when a silver four-door sedan struck him. The suspect vehicle stopped briefly, but when the driver realized he had struck someone, he drove away from the scene, police said.
The car has visible damage to the front and top of the hood as a result of the incident.
According to police, the suspect vehicle may be a 2010-2015 Honda Accord.
