“There was heavy smoke over Belle Center when we were called, and when we arrived there was heavy fire and smoke visible,” Johns said.
It is unknown what caused the fire, but the state fire marshal is investigating, he added. He confirmed they did not enter the shed because it was “too far away for anyone to go in.”

One civilian was injured (with burns) and transported to a local hospital and then transferred to The Ohio State University Medical Center. The extent of their injuries or condition is unknown, Johns said. No firefighters were injured.
Johns said the barn is a total loss and exact damage estimates are not yet available.
Fire crews from Bellefontaine, De Graff, West Liberty, Rust Creek, Ridgeway and many other agencies were also on scene to assist.
