Los Angeles police arrested a 48-year-old for allegedly setting some trash on fire outside an Eagle Rock Boxing gym.

The alleged arson happened Sunday morning outside the Lako Boxing Club along the 4400 block of Eagle Rock Boulevard. Security cameras outside the gym captured the flames caused by 48-year-old Marvella Salomon.

“She moved a mattress to a fitness band that we use for workouts and put some other stuff on top of it, then set it on fire and quickly walked away,” said owner Yuichi Ohi.

Officers from the Northeast Division, which patrols the area, arrested Salomon on Dec. 19 after recognizing her on a wanted flyer put out by detectives.

They booked her for arson of a structure and arson of personal property. She is being held on a $125,000 bond.

Anyone with information about this case can contact Major Crimes at (213) 486-7260. Those who wish to remain anonymous can call the LA Regional Crime Stoppers at 1(800) 222-8477 or through their website lacrimstoppers.org.
