The New Century Air Center runway was closed for part of Saturday afternoon after a small plane crash, a Johnson County official said.
At around 12:30 p.m., a small single-engine plane crashed its wing onto the runway as a pilot attempted to land. The runway was closed as the Olathe Fire Department worked to clean up a fuel leak resulting from the crash.
The Kansas Highway Patrol, along with other Johnson County agencies, responded to the scene.
No injuries were reported in the crash, said Andy Hyland, a Johnson County spokesman.
The runway has now reopened.
