A man has been arrested in connection with a murder that occurred in west Charlotte earlier this month.
According to court documents, Raphael Wright has been charged with first-degree murder and first-degree rape with intent to commit rape.

Judge Jennifer Fleet set him $50,000 bail this morning.

The charges stem from the fatal shooting of 27-year-old Michelle Lynn Schechter on June 16.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said the shooting happened on Glenwood Drive, near I-85.
Schechter was then taken to a local hospital, where she later died, police said.

According to court documents, Wright was given a $50,000 bond but remains in custody.
