A serious accident involving a tanker truck that overturned closed part of a highway in New Hampshire near the Massachusetts border Monday morning.
According to Nashua Fire Rescue, the crash happened on the north side of the Everett Turnpike, near Exit 8 in Nashua.
The accident caused oil to spill onto the highway, prompting a hazmat response. A safety crew is working to dump oil from the overturned tanker.
“The situation will continue for several hours as the product is unloaded from the trailer,” firefighters said in a message on X.
It was not immediately clear whether anyone was injured in the crash.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
Us #Hazardous Substances team working on site @NHDES to ensure that the consequences are minimal. Currently, the leaking oil is under control.
