Voters in the Stevens Point area went to the polls Tuesday to vote on two amendments to the state constitution and to select candidates to represent parties in the Nov. 5 general election.
The positions up for election include the U.S. Senate, U.S. Congress, Wisconsin State Senate, Wisconsin State Assembly, and Portage County elected officials: district attorney, clerk, treasurer, and land clerk.
Below are the results from Tuesday’s partisan primaries.
US Senate
Republican Eric Hovde is running against incumbent Democrat U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin in the November general election. As of early Wednesday morning, 97.24% of the votes had been reported and The Associated Press had called the race.
Republican Party
Eric Hovde: 476,211 (86.3%)
Charles E. Barman: 40,854 (7.4%)
Rejani Raveendran: 34,534 (6.3%)

3rd Congressional District
Democrat Rebecca Cooke will face incumbent Republican Rep. Derrick Van Orden in the November general election.
Democratic Party
Rebecca Cooke: 42,320 (50.1%)
Katrina Shankland: 34,763 (41.1%)
Eric Wilson: 7,411 (8.8%)

Wisconsin Legislature
District 57 Meeting
Republican Kevin Peterson will face Democrat Ruth Caves of Wild Rose and Independent Dylan Testin of Waupaca in the November general election.
Republican Party
Kevin Peterson: 6,156 (63.1%)
Duane Wilson: 3,606 (36.9%)
District 86 Meeting
Republican John Spiros will face Democrat John H. Small of Marathon in the November general election.
Republican Party
John Spiros (i): 3,709 (43.3%)
Woman Rozar: 2,721 (31.7%)
Triangle spindle: 2,143 (25%)
District 87 Meeting
Republican Brent Jacobson will face Democrat William Switalla of Wittenberg in the November general election.

Brent Jacobson: 6,065 (74.2%)
Cory Sillars: 2,107 (25.8%)
Constitutional amendments
As of early Wednesday morning, 98.78 percent of the state’s votes had been cast for the two constitutional amendments on Tuesday’s ballot. The Associated Press had called the race on both questions.
