Chinese gymnast Zhou Yaqin was spotted helping out at her family’s restaurant in Hengyang, Hunan Province, China, after returning home with a silver medal from the Paris Olympics. The 18-year-old debuting Olympian became famous online for her adorable reaction during the women’s balance beam medal ceremony on August 5.

  • Serving diners: The video, originally uploaded to Douyin and later reshared on X, shows Zhou busily serving a bowl of food to guests while wearing her Olympic uniform. On August 11, Zhou promoted her family’s business on Weibo and invited her followers and fans to come over for a meal.

  • What they say: A Douyin user praised Zhou’s hardworking nature in his comment under the Hengyang Daily post, writing, “We Hunan people are diligent and hardworking.” Meanwhile, X users were excited about the thought of meeting an Olympic medalist in China on any given day, as one exclaimed, “So what ur(sic) saying is that I can meet her if I go to her restaurant now (right now)?”
