CMPD Investigates Murder in Southeast Charlotte

One person was killed early Friday morning in southeast Charlotte, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg police.

Just before 2 a.m., police arrived at the 8100 block of Woodway Oak Circle.

At the scene, they found a woman with a gunshot wound. The woman was later pronounced dead, police said.

According to the police, it is unclear what happened before the shooting.

“We are still in the early stages of this investigation, so we are asking the community for any assistance they can,” said Major Gene Lim.
