Dry and quiet weekend, small chance of scattered showers

PREDICTION:

  • The rest of the weekend will remain calm and 95% dry.

  • There will only be scattered showers in a few places.

  • We will continue to monitor a low pressure area off the Carolina coast Monday and Monday night. The area may become more tropical before moving inland across eastern North Carolina and into Virginia.

  • The greatest chance of rain on Monday is east of Charlotte, east of I-77, and less so west toward the mountains.

  • It could be a profitable, heavy rainfall of several inches on the coast and OBX.

  • The exact path of this system will determine whether the chance of heavier rainfall moves closer locally, but ultimately we’ll likely start the week with at least showers on Monday.

Once this is over, we should have a fairly quiet next week with seasonal temperatures… and cooler weather towards the end of the week.
