Crews quickly halt progress of grass fire that burned 40 acres near Sears Point

SONOMA — The vegetation fire along Lakeville Highway near Sears Point in southern Sonoma County, also known as the Cougar fire, has come to a halt, Cal Fire reported on social media at 2:32 p.m. Sunday.

According to Cal Fire, the fire is 100 acres in size.

According to Cal Fire, the fires are being fought with 13 fire engines, two bulldozers, two fire crews, two helicopters and four firefighting aircraft.
