Tuesday, conditions in the Philadelphia area will be similar to Monday, with a chance of a few showers and a good mix of clouds with just a few rays of sunshine. High temperatures on Tuesday will again be in the low 70s.
Another round of scattered showers is possible Wednesday, but rain doesn’t seem guaranteed. Areas that do get a few showers could get a quarter to a half inch of rain, but not much more than that.
Meanwhile, in the tropics, a low pressure area in the northwestern Caribbean has been named Potential Tropical Cyclone #9. This system is forecast to become a hurricane as it moves northward toward the Gulf of Mexico. It is forecast to become a Category 2 hurricane and possibly a major Category 3 hurricane before making landfall in the Big Bend region of Florida, likely Thursday through Friday.
It’s too early to say for sure, but the chances of the storm having any impact on the Philadelphia region are slim, aside from some high clouds and a slight chance of an isolated shower later in the week and over the weekend.
The NEXT Weather team will continue to closely monitor this storm and other forms of rain throughout the week so you can prepare for potential impacts.
