Come strictly dance Week two is just around the corner – and it’s going to be exciting for the celebrities as one star won’t make it.
The first two weeks of the BBC competition brought this year’s crop of stars to a successful conclusion, with a launch show, which saw the contestants team up with their respective professionals, and a first week of dancing with no one eliminated.
This week, however, the judges’ scores from last week will be carried forward and then combined with the viewers’ vote, meaning two couples will have to take part in the dreaded dance-off on Sunday’s results show (September 29).
Of the 15 couples who danced, the leaderboard was topped with 31 points by JLS star JB Gill and Amy Dowden, who made a triumphant return to Strictly after being too ill to take part in last year’s series while recovering from treatment for stage three breast cancer.
At the other end of the scale are punk rock singer Toyah Willcox, who scored twelve out of forty, and former Arsenal player Paul Merson, who got just seventeen for his American Smooth on the football anthem ‘Vindaloo’.
