16-year-old boy shot and injured in suburban Chicago

SKOKIE, Ill. (CBS) — A 16-year-old boy was recovering Sunday evening after being shot in north suburban Skokie.

Saturday at 9:03 p.m., Skokie police officers were called to a person shot at Keating Avenue and Davis Street.

They found the teen, who had suffered a gunshot wound and was taken to an area hospital. Police could not specify the boy’s condition but said he had been stabilized.

Police do not believe the shooting was a random act. More details will be released as the investigation allows, police said.
