Cooler weather has arrived in Kansas City, bringing temperatures back closer to average on Monday and making way for pleasant outdoor activities in the evening, such as a football game.
After a cold start, temperatures in the metro will rise to around 73 degrees in the afternoon, which is just a few degrees higher than the typical 71 degrees this time of year.
“It will be nice outside,” the weather service said.
The weather should be pleasant for football fans heading to Arrowhead Stadium to watch the Kansas City Chiefs-New Orleans Saints football game, the weather service said.
Temperatures around the 7:15 PM kickoff will be in the upper 60s, dropping to the low 60s by the end of the game. The wind will be light, so a light jacket may be warranted. No rain is expected.
Warmer weather coming
A warming trend will begin Tuesday and continue throughout the work week. Temperatures will be in the mid-70s on Tuesday and low 80s on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
“From now on, Friday will be the hottest day of the week,” the weather service said.
Temperatures will be 10 to 15 degrees above average for this time of year across much of the forecast area. Dry conditions are expected over the next seven days, according to the weather service.
Above-normal temperatures and below-normal rainfall are likely between October 14 and 20.
